200 League Games for Captain Quade

June 18, 2013 by

Club Captain Ryan Quade will play his 200th League game when taking the field of play on Sunday at Dairy Farmers Park against Sydney University.    The Clubs popular and outstanding leader has 183 games to his credit wearing the black and gold plus 16 games with the Sydney Swans Reserves when playing as a rookie in 2005.

There are not too many players who have premierships with two clubs in the one League – a distinction that Quadie has achieved – being part of the Swans AFL Canberra Premiership in 2005 and then as Captain of the Tigers in their historic NEAFL Eastern Conference Premiership last season.

He leads by example and has been inspirational during his period of time with the Tigers particularly during the past two years with a relatively young side (and Coach) to mentor and correspond with.

200 League games qualify him for League Life Membership and admittance to the prestigious 200 Club.  He joins other Queanbeyan Tigers players who are League 200 Club Members being: Alan Muir, Col Wheeler, Harold Williams, James Black, Dennis Hopkins, Geoff Harold, Mark Briant, Peter Harrington, Tony Wynd, Doug Daniel, Robert Anderson, George Stevens, Michael Goiser, Steve Vizy, Mark Armstrong, Jason Gilbert and Chris Davis.

The Club would like to congratulate and wish Quadie all the best for this weeks encounter with the students at 11.45am on Sunday.

The Tigers have a full round of matches for all grades this weekend with the following games being played:

Sunday, 23 June.

9.30am.   Tigers Under 18 Grade Rising Stars v Belconnen at Dairy Farmers Park  (top of the table clash)

10.00am. Tigerettes v ADFA at Queanbeyan Park Oval.

11.45am. Tigers NEAFL v Sydney University at Dairy Farmers Park

2.30pm.  Tigers AFL Canberra Division 1 v Tuggeranong Hawks (again) at Dairy Farmers Park
