2019 Round 7 Details & Preview

March 27, 2019 by

To say the Club will enjoy welcoming back one of its favourite players for the game against the Tuggeranong Hawks this coming Sunday would be a huge understatement.

Hannah Dunn

Returning to the fold will be Tigerettes Captain of the past three seasons the hugely popular Hannah Dunn.

Hannah has been missing from the Tigerettes all season. A move to Adelaide to further her career earlier this year seen her link with Norwood FC of the SANFL during which time she has certainly made her mark on the footy world. Approaches from a few AFLW teams could once again see one of our favourite Tigerettes playing in the big-league next season after already having had experience with the GWS GIANTS.

With the SANFL season now complete, Hannah rejoins the Tigerettes 1st Grade this week for the clash against Tuggeranong on Sunday at Greenway – the game commencing at 3.45pm. it is hopeful she will be with the club for the rest of the season except for a short holiday overseas !!!!.

Brando to celebrate his 50th Club game this weekend!

Leading Goal kickers

A number of Tiger players are featuring prominently in each grade of the AFL Canberra competitions with 4 of the 5 grades being led by Queanbeyan players:

  • Tim Clowry – 1st Grade Men’s currently 2nd on 16 goals
  • Marcus Lawrence – Reserve Grade Men’s currently 1st with 15 goals
  • Jack Manners – Under 18 Rising Stars currently 1st with 17 goals

Competition placements

The teams are featured highly in each competition.

They currently leading the Men’s and Women’s 1st Grade competitions along with the Men’s Reserve Grade. The Tigerettes Reserve Grade have lost just one match so far that being to Riverina Lions of which they play this Saturday at Allinsure Park which promises to be a great contest.

The Tigers Under 18 Grade Rising Stars are 5th and are hugely dependent on having players available that have been involved throughout the season with various development squads or NEAFL teams.

In what will be the match of the round, our 2nd Placed Women’s Reserves take on 3rd Placed Eastlake at Kingston Oval. Both teams are in ripping form and this promises to be a beauty with the winner potentially locking in 2nd spot long term leading into finals.
