The Tigers are very pleased to announce that it’s current panel of senior coaches have all confirmed their commitment to the Tigers for the 2018 season and have been re-appointed.
Dave Corcoran will continue as First Grade Coach where he has worked hard to enhance the club’s culture and develop what is still a very young playing group.
Dave will be supported by Senior Assistant Paul Campbell, who continues to be a sounding board and behind-the-scenes organiser of the coaching panel.
Alex Lawder, a possible target to take over the vacant First Grade role at Tuggeranong, is very much enjoying his return to the Tigers and the Second Grade coaching position and has indicated he has no intentions of leaving the Tigers in the forseeable future.
Alex will be supported by Kieran Johnson who uses his wealth of coaching experience to be somewhat of a mentor to all of the coaches as well as working to develop players.
Chris Clifton retains the Rising Stars role, a challenging job of shaping young players and guiding them through the big step from junior to senior football. The Rising Stars playing list usually changes substantially each year as boys graduate into and out of the under 18 age group. But with a very young group this year, Chris will have many of his current players in the Rising Stars for another season.
The Tigerrettes will once again be coached by Cheyne Webster. Cheyne is in his first year of Women’s coaching and has done a fantastic job of expanding the good work of former coach Robert Anderson. Having coached Second Grade men’s football in the past, Cheyne has provided additional structure and technical coaching for the girls, many of whom were ready for this level of coaching.
Re-appointing our coaches at this point of the year is a great coup that provides stability and allows for plans to be put in place for 2018 and beyond.
We are very fortunate to have such a committed coaching group in charge of an equally impressive playing list through the grades.
