The Tigers Armstrong Academy commenced on Wednesday 3 November with 35 aspiring young footballers taking to the track under the guidance of Paul Campbell and Adrian Pavese.

The Academy is in its fourth year and is the pathway for youngsters from the area to progress from junior footy ranks to playing at the highest level in AFL Canberra.

All AFL Canberra Clubs will be included in a new competition which will be phased in over the next two years. The “North East Australian Football League” will have teams from GWS, Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Darwin Thunder, Sydney Swans and all teams from the AFL Queensland competition.

This competition will eventually become a second tier competition to the AFL and will gain recognition as a drafting opportunity for players – similar to that of the SANFL and WAFL.

The Armstrong Academy will go a long way of progressing players to reach their goal of being drafted into the AFL through the Tigers Club and AFL Canberra.

Any player between 16 and 18 who would like to be apart of the Academy can give Adrian Pavese a call on 0429913436.

The Tigers would like to acknowledge our Academy Sponsors: Rumbles, Space Developments, Martin Donnelly, Border Stainless Steel.
