This Saturday, one of the Tigers favourites reaches an incredible milestone by becoming the 2nd
Tigers Female player to reach 150 games. Congratulations Lauren Flakelar!
Affectionately known as Lon, she will be the 4th female player to receive Life Membership and Wall of Fame Honours along with Hannah Kelly (nee Dunn), Ella Shea (nee Ross) & Lani Watson.
However, with her 150th game this Saturday she also earns her name amongst some of the club greats on the Michael Haddock Walk of Fame entrance into Aulich Park.
Lon's connection to the club dates back to when her father Darcy played for the tigers playing 34 games. Lon started playing with the club in 2014 and has since become a highly decorated and much-loved player for the club.
All being well and good, in the coming weeks Lon should also break the all-time games record for the Tigers Female Program of 155 set by Lani Watson.
The incredible part about Lon's journey is how humble she is and how she has rarely missed a training session or game over her 10-year career. In fact, if covid hadn't hit the world she would already be the games record holder.
Despite her small statue, her furiousness towards the contest, support of her teammates and leadership is second to none. Asked how long she will play for the answer is always "until I can't run anymore" such is her love for the tigers and the game.
Congratulations Lon, your record below is a true reflection of all the hard work you have put in and commitment to your beloved Tigers.
