Tigers Local Junior and GWS Academy star Josh Fahey has been drafted to the GWS GIANTS AFL team for the 2022 season.
Affectionately know as Fazor, Josh has had a standout two years that has now propelled him into his dream of being an AFL player.
The Tigers have had some fantastic draft success recently in the AFLW space with 5 players being drafted since 2017, but in the male space Josh becomes our first player drafted since 1991.
Troy Gray was drafted to the Swans in that year and we have had Mark Armstrong, Jeff Gilbert and Ryan Quade all play on supplementary lists as well.
Added to the above men are Robert Anderson Footscray (now Western Bulldogs) and Michael Kennedy Brisbane Bears (now Lions) who played at the elite level when it was just a recruitment process and there was no draft.
Over 150 family, friends, teammates, coaches and GWS Academy staff attended a packed out Tigers Club to watch the draft live and when Josh's name was finally announced at Pick 42 - the roof lifted!
The Tigers congratulate Josh and his parents Adam and Kym on what is a tremendous achievement for the Fahey family and a wonderful reward for all the effort put into getting Josh to this stage of his career.

The big crowd above and below wait patiently during the draft.
Once all the excitement settled post Josh's announcement, Josh took a call from his new coach Leon Cameron!
