Giants Academy Trials at Allinsure Park

Get down to Allinsure Park on Saturday, 25 February to catch some of the region’s best young talent on display in the Giants Academy Under 16 and Under 18 Trials.

Close to 180 of the best players from Canberra, Sydney, Wagga, Albury and as far away as Broken Hill will be showing their wares in the hope of being selected for the Giants to compete in a newly introduced academy series featuring the Giants, Swans, Suns, Lions, NT and Tasmania.

The new academy series will replace Division 2 of the Under 18 national championships. The new series will be played throughout March and April and will lead to an Allies team being selected to compete in the national championships against powerhouse states Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

As well as the opportunity to see some of our own local talent including Tigers Liam Russell, Harry Grant, William Stubbs, Lachlan Squire, Harry Straker, Anthony Lo Pilato, and Christian Palombi; it’s a chance to possibly see some future AFL stars on their way to the big time.

Under 16’s games start at 11am. Under 18’s games start at 2.45pm.

Entry is free. There will be a full canteen being operated by the Tigers Juniors and the Tigers Licensed Club has made a special dinner offer of chicken schnitzel and a drink for $12.50 for anyone looking for a meal after the games.
