At a recent Board meeting the Tigers Coaching Selection Sub Committee endorsed the re-appointment of current Senior Coach Adrian Pavese for the 2020 season in which the Board accepted.
With the Tigers building towards the finals series with 4 games left in the Home & Away season, the appointment of Pav for next year allows the team and coaches to place all of their focus on the rest of the 2019 season knowing the Head Coaching role is settled.
“It certainly takes the pressure off having next year signed off leading into finals” Pavese said
“We have changed a fair bit in terms of game plan and mindset in 2019, which has shown great signs of improvement within the group however we know that it still needs time to develop and going into next season it should allow the boys to flourish even more” he added
The club has commenced the resigning of it’s current list and have also started talking to potential recruits so the early announcement of Pavese’s reappointment will certainly help with these talks as players will see the club as settled.
In the coming weeks, the club hopes to confirm the Coaching Positions for the other grades including the 1st Grade Women’s role.
Next year will mark Pav’s 30th season in coaching having started way back in 1991 as an 18 year old having coached all levels along the journey. Below is some of Pavese achievements:
